Active participation of students from Faculty of Computer Science and Technology in 'The Great Mind Challenge' organized by IBM, Date: 31st March 2014

'The Great Mind Challenge' (TGMC) contest is organized by IBM every year; projects are invited from students across the country that can develop solutions for real-time problems and scenarios. The Great Mind Challenge is also utilized as meeting ground for large IT corporations in seek of young talent from universities looking for recruitment opportunities. It provides students with the unique opportunity to work alongside world-class scientists in the leading industrial IT research organization and explore them in the real world.

It is a moment of proud and immense pleasure that 180 students from Faculty of Computer Science and Technology have participated in TGMC event and worked on the projects listed by the TGMC group. They successfully completed and submitted the project work carried out by them using 'Mobile Applications' to IBM. Some of the project definitions are 'Customer Mobile Apps for Retail Receipt Manager', 'Employee Information System', 'Online Chat Application', 'Student Management System', 'Tour and Travel India' and many more.

In the previous academic years we have teams who were the winners for 'TGMC' and many more teams were selected for the final round of face-to-face-interview. This year expecting more number of teams to get selected and hope the winners would be announced from Faculty of Computer Science and Technology.

Mr. Sapan Naik was the co-ordinator for 'The Great Mind Challenge' contest and motivated the students to explore their talent.

Esteemed Presence of Mr. Rajesh Gadhiya, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Surat District on "UTSAV 2014" organized by B. V. Patel Institute of Computer and Information Technology, Date: 30th March 2014

"UTSAV 2014" an annual day celebration and farewell for the students of B. V. Patel Institute of Computer and Information Technology. Mr. Rajesh Gadhiya the Deputy Superintendent of Police for Surat district gave his venerated presence as an honorable chief guest for the event and inaugurated the formal function. Various dignitaries were present namely Dr. D. R. Shah Vice Chancellor of Uka Tarsadia University, Shri. Kiritbhai Patel Secretary of BPKM Trust, Shri. Arvindbhai Patel Joint Secretary BPKM gave their esteemed presence. Dr. D. R. Shah sir had shared words of wisdom and motivated the students. Mr. Rajesh Gadhiya gave a squat talk to motivate the youth to indulge themselves in the civil services as it is believed that the youth can change the society in the best of manner than what it is today and it would help to be a better place for people to live and provide guidance to last year students how they can get into the civil services and at a very young age got the control of five Talukas say Bardoli, Mahuva, Mandvi, Palsana and Kadodara GIDC. Formal function ended followed by Lunch and cultural activities which involved fun with heaps of dancing and singing.

800+ students and 45+ faculties from Faculty of Computer Science and Technology gave their presence in "UTSAV 2014".The event was concluded by giving farewell to the last year students and scoop of ice cream enjoyed by everyone.

A Workshop on "Mobile Application Development" organized by B.V.Patel Institute of BMC & IT under UTU, Date: 11th March 2014

Project Cell of B.V.Patel Institute of BMC & IT under UTU organized full day workshop on "Mobile Application Development" for B.C.A - 4th Semester students. This workshop was exclusively for the students who are going to participate in TGMC competition. The Great Mind Challenge (TGMC) is an annual nationwide software development competition, created by the Academic Initiative of IBM.Approximately 15 students were participated in this workshop enthusiastically. The session was conducted by Mr. Rajendra Chaudhary who is IBM trainer. The workshop is divided into two sessions. In first session resource person delivered talk on introduction of Android, Basic on creation of emulator and simulator and practical demonstration about usage of HTML, Java Script and CSS in Work Light Environment, deploy and run application and conversion of project into apk file. In the second session he focused on step by step procedure for installation of DB2, discussed common problems occurred during installation and solved the query of students.

Student from SY BCA secured 2nd rank in Programming Competition held at Vallabh Vidyanagar, Date: 15th Februray 2014

Student of SYBCA, B.V.Patel Institute of BMC & IT, Uka Tarsadia University Mr. Divyesh Jani (Enrolment No. 201203100110091) had participated in State Level Event of QUIZ and PROGRAMMING organized G H Post Graduate Department Of Computer Science And Technology, Vallabh Vidyanagar on 15th February, 2014. He secured 2nd rank in "Programming" competition at UG level.

Students of BCA achieved 1st rank in "Solomon IT 2014" at M. K. Institute of Computer Studies, Bharuch, Date 8th Februray 2014

Students of B. V. Patel Institute of Business Management, Computer & Information Technology had participated in the state level event "Solomon IT 2014" organized by M. K. Institute of Computer Studies, Bharuch on 8th February 2014. In this event Mr. Fenil H. Shah & Mr. Hiral K. Patel of TYBCA secured 1st rank in the "Web Redesign" competition.

We congratulate them on their success and wish them more success in their life.
